What is TDS?
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are the total weight of all solids (minerals, salts, or metals) the are dissolved in a given volume of water, expressed in milligrams per liter (mg/L ),or in parts per million (ppm).
The lower the TDS level in the water, the more efficiently your body’s cells actually get hydrated by the water you drink.
The higher the TDS level in the water, the greater the probability of having harmful contaminants to pose health risks or hinder the absorption of water molecules on the cellular level.
What is Reverse Osmosis (R.O.)?
“Reverse osmosis is the process of pushing a solution through a filter that traps the solute on one side and allows the pure solvent to be obtained from the other side. More formally, it is the process of forcing a solvent from a region of high solute concentration through a membrane to a region of low solute concentration by applying a pressure in excess of the osmotic pressure” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_osmoisis).
What is the different between Chlorine and Chloride?
Chlorine is a natural element that only exists in gaseous form, Cl2, and Chloride is a positively charged, standalone chlorine atom, Cl+. At municipal water plant, Chlorides, and not Chlorine (gas), are added to tap water to kill bacteria. If Chlorine (gas) does exist in your tap water, you will be subjected to immediate dangers.
